Abel Thomason

Owner

With over 30 years of experience in construction and a Michigan Builder’s License since 2002, Abel Thomason brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and leadership to Veritas. His journey in the trades began early—working landscaping jobs in middle and high school and learning hands-on skills during his family’s renovation of their Queen Anne Victorian home.

After high school, Abel began working full time as an apprentice carpenter while attending Eastern Michigan University to pursue an art degree. While school didn’t quite stick, carpentry certainly did. He went on to spend a decade working as a contracted carpenter and project manager for several builders in the Ann Arbor area, steadily growing his own list of homeowner clients and earning a reputation for quality, reliability, and craftsmanship.

The third-eldest of eleven children and now a proud father of ten, Abel finds joy in both family life and creative pursuits. He enjoys sports, drawing, music, the outdoors, and, most of all, joining in the activities his kids are passionate about. His lifelong love for building—whether homes, teams, or relationships—continues to shape his vision and leadership.
